Let’s take a closer look
What does it do?
HyPro-70® is a high quality product containing an average of 70% available chlorine by weight, combined with an anti-scaling agent to minimise sediment and scale formation. It is compatible with most automatic feed devices and manually operate methods. As with all calcium hypochlorite products, there are certain practices that can be implemented to ensure trouble-free operation and keep maintenance to a minimum.
Reducing Equipment Maintenance
HyPro-70® pellets contain a special anti-scaling agent to reduce scaling and sedimentation effects. However the cause of frequent injection point blockages or sedimentation in feed lines and day tanks is largeley due to the characteristics of your local water supply. In very soft water areas these problems are seldom experienced. If a high total alkalinity level is present in the water you use for making up your calcium hypochlorite solution, this will encourage calcium salts to precipitate out of the dosing solution, causing excess sediment or scale build-up. If the pool water itself has a high total alkalinity value it will cause excessive build-up of scale at the tip of the injection point. Keeping alkalinity levels under control will pay big dividends in reducing maintenance and down-time.
