There is now a new quick reference guide for pool and spa filter cartridges. That’s a good start to 2012 isn’t it?

Plastica has developed the ultimate quick reference guide to help the pool and spa trade to save an enormous amount of time working out which cartridges are compatible. You will never want to lose it!

Above Ground Swimming Pools For Playing In

There are so many choices with pools these days that you can be spoilt for choice but when the children are young it pays to take advantage of that choice of pool. The reason for the great variety in choice of swimming pools is because the pools are built to serve different markets. In practice this means that the pools are built to adapt to the needs of the different swimming abilities and different playing abilities of the users.
Consider the first needs of a young child when the parent first decides to let them play with water. Most children love bath time when they can play safely watched by their mother. When play time comes during the day it is sometimes difficult to fill the time and the paddling pool is the ideal way for the child to play and the parent to keep them comfortable in water.
The small pools for baby’s change yearly and the latest come with latest Disney design or similar pictures. The pop up pool is the latest design with baby’s pool coming with a sun cover so that when it is quickly placed on the lawn and popped up then filled with a bucket or two of water the baby is in a safe environment from both water and sun. The cost of these above ground swimming pools is as little as £10 and one with a sun cover is around £25.
The cost element means that next year when baby is a little older the old pool can be given away and a new one purchased. In this case it will most likely be a small inflatable pool of a circular design, basically a rubber ring with a plastic base filled with a bit more water. The inflatable ring now gives a support when sitting down but also something soft to land on when the child falls or moves quickly. The price levels are still the same, but the price may rise for the latest design but £25 is still a good price.
As the years go by then the pools get bigger and the same rubber ring design is a very good place to start. The depth of pool can get more each year and the diameter can be larger dependent on the number that use it.

Luxury Swimming Pools

There is nothing like a luxury swimming pool and the best suppliers can make this dream come true at a cost, which is competitive. By definition it will not be cheap to build or quick to get to a finished state but the finished product should be something that all your friends will want an invite to enjoy and the children will be delighted. The above ground swimming pool needs to be big enough to swim in easily without turning every few yards and small enough to maintain the intimacy of the place.
It may be great to have a pool almost the size of an Olympic pool but it can be a very dull atmosphere with 2 or 3 people in it. Make sure the surrounds are of an excellent quality, it may be great to have the pool surrounds covered by the latest tiles and then find that they are prone to slipping and skidding because it will not be long before somebody gets injured.
Make sure that the surrounding area of the swimming pool is large enough to relax in so that on a good summer’s day or even a good sunny winter’s day you have space to relax by the pool with a set of good pool furniture. Pool furniture is a market on its own but there are complete ranges that go from plastic and fabric chairs to basket ware and wooden tables and chairs. Take your time but remember that they have to survive in the damp atmosphere of the pool and they will no doubt get wet in the process of being used. The furniture also has to cope with a Chlorine atmosphere from the chemical treatment and this can be a little hard on the furniture.
In fact it will be worthwhile considering what treatment systems you wish to use, a good chemical treatment set up is essential and it is possible to consider using and Ozone generator of an Ultraviolet system of cleaning which does away with Chlorine.
Consider putting in a hot tub or Jacuzzi as this is a type of relaxation that just goes with the pool. Take some time to decide where to put it but ideally it will be just to one side or one end of the pool for easy access and use. Consider the type of pool fixings that you require in terms of ladders and may be even diving boards. A quality pool will require quality fixings

Don’t let frost bite this winter!

There’s nothing better than relaxing in a warm, luxurious hot tub whilst Jack Frost has come to visit. With the snow nestled on the ground, the temperature has taken a turn towards the minus, why would you want to sit indoor and not enjoy the stunning experience the hot tub can offer you? Not in very many places can you enjoy the fragility of snowflakes gently landing in your drink, whilst enjoying relaxing music and you’re sat with your nearest and dearest in the dead of winter, outside.

However, some people want to wave goodbye until the summer rays are softly carried by the spring breeze and the Easter rabbits have come and gone for another year before they get back into their tub. Ensuring that your hot tub is well protected over the winter isn’t as easy as popping the cover on and draining the tub for the harsh winter climate.

If you don’t take care to winterize your hot tub properly, the follow can cause serious harm down the line:

Damage your pumps
Fractured plumbing
Damage to shell in worst cases
Stagnant Water
